Setting up my own website which is Fun WIth Disney was much easier than I had expected. The steps are simple enough that anyone should be able to set up a low cost website for themselves. Follow my steps and save yourself some time and money.
Choose Your Website Name
Choose your website name wisely. Try and pick the most direct name with the least amount of characters and words. Run a search for the name you would like to choose to see what kind of search results are returned. You will be able to verify the name has not been taken in the next step when we register your unique web address.
Finding a Web Hosting Provider
There are many web hosting providers offering competitive services. The cost of setting up my own website was much less than expected. To register my web address and 1 year of website hosting plan, I paid less than $50. For this amount of money you can find a decent amount of both storage space and bandwidth. After you have chosen a web provider and hosting plan, you can register your site name all at one time. Most web hosting providers offer all of these services and it is convenient to manage site registration and hosting in one place.
Building Your Site
Many web hosting companies offer a simple set of web building tools. I chose to use Hosting Megastore, which is very popular for building a variety of websites but can also be used to easily design and manage a website for a business. Setting up my own website with a Hosting Megastore was fast and easy.
